7DS: The Annual Best Of Pants On Fire Party!

Portland's Wildest Storytelling Experience Returns!

Join us as we host Portland' most wildest and interactive entertainment event with Pants On Fire! Party at the historic White Eagle Hotel & Saloon.
Pants On Fire! features some of the Pacific Northwest's premier storytellers, comedians, artists, writers, celebrities & musicians telling some of the most outrageous, hard-to-believe, 100% true stories you've ever heard. The problem is, one of our storytellers will be lying to your face, telling a complete whopper that never happened.
Think you can figure out which ones are telling the truth, and which one's pants are on fire? If you can, you might win a bunch of cool stuff, including sponsor swag, concert tickets, and an overnight stay at the Edgefield Winery & Hotel.

Bonus: As always, this November show will feature brand new stories by our most popular performers of 2024, as determined by our audience.

Or try to win the Bag O' Somewhat Valuable Prizes with our Two Truths & A Lie Audience Cage Match!
And after the Pants On Fire! liar is revealed, we'll keep the party moving into the evening with music by the great John Shipe. Thanks to universal critical praise, Shipe's new album Water This Dark has been surging up the Americana and Alt-County charts and Best Of 2024. A 7 Deadly SIns fan favorite, Shipe's sets are deft mixes of Delta blues, old school R&B, country twang, and - of course - great stories.

So join us for an evening of good eats & drink, games & prizes, mingling, catching up, great music, and of course fantastic storytelling - most of which will actually be true!

John Shipe

Acoustic indie pop & rock

John Shipe

Eugene indie-pop singer and songsmith John Shipe returns with Yellow House, a new 16-track solo album. A stripped-down affair produced by Ehren Ebbage, the LP features a core of mostly acoustic instruments augmented with keyboards, a rhythm section, horns and players from the artist's past electric line-ups (The Blue Rebekahs, The Scapegoats).

Shipe's body of work has been described as cinematic, aggressively embracing any genre required to enhance the colorfully drawn characters in his songs. The synthesis of seasoned songwriting and sonic intrigue works on both the brain and the heart. A veteran writer and performer, Shipe currently has a repertoire of 200-plus original songs and 15 years of touring, radio airplay and nine recording projects behind him. 27 of his tunes have played on 100 independent and commercial radio stations, all without the support of a major record label. He's also shared the bill with Bob Dylan, Blind Melon, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Cake, Tower of Power, Jerry Joseph, Jimmy Cliff, Derek Trucks, Los Lobos, Tony Furtado and quite a few others.

Shipe is now playing mostly solo shows, which highlight material from Yellow House and add in acoustic versions of older favorites from his previous electric efforts. He is often accompanied by stand-up acoustic bass and a second guitarist/vocalist.

"...remarkable vocalist and songsmith...breaks away from the mold...Without a doubt, he's an interesting figure..." -Performing Songwriter Magazine
