About Tavern & Pool

The name says it all

Bring your whole family in for a weekend lunch, meet with co-workers for drinks or stop by before a show for a beer and a burger. Cozy up next to the woodstove or grab a heated outdoor table so you can enjoy a pint while watching the comings and goings of the neighborhood.

Take a spin at one of our pool tables for your 8-ball enjoyment, or try one of our two 22 ft. shuffleboard tables — while you wait your turn, head to the bar for McMenamins handcrafted ales, wines and spirits, along with an assortment of other beverages. And don't miss the artwork, compliments of our dedicated McMenamins artists — who knows what they'll come up with next?

Tavern & Pool allows pets at our sidewalk seating only.

We offer Northwest-style pub fare that incorporates the freshest seasonal ingredients from local and regional growers and producers. Our pizza, soups and more are house-made, and seasonal specials are always a menu option - ask your server for details.

Gluten-free buns available! These light, crisp, locally made products are available for an additional charge with hamburgers and sandwiches – just ask your server. Please note: Although the bun is gluten-free, our kitchens are not.

History

With its uneven walls and sinking base, the building itself speaks of decades past, but the artistic ambiance and irreverent style flashes a wink at years to come. Relax, look around, this is McMenamins Tavern and Pool! Enjoy a pint and be part of the continuum that goes back all the way to when an adventurous Bavarian brewer and saloon man named Anton Gansneder built the place....

A bar since 1909, it has been known as The Hangman's Tree, the Chug-a-Mug and finally McMenamins Tavern & Pool — read its story here.
