McMenamins + Great Notion

Pass a note in school and you might end up in detention. Pass one between breweries and you will definitely end up with three magnificent beers. For the second time, we swapped recipes with Great Notion Brewing: we gave them ours for Ruby Ale, they shared their JB IPA, and we each reinvented the originals.
 
Taste all three on tap at 23rd Avenue Bottle Shop at a special event on Friday, February 17. They’ll only be on tap until they’re gone! Or get them in cans or bottles to go for a limited time.

Great Notion Ruby Jammin
Great Notion crafted a raspberry bonanza called Ruby Jammin by taking our Ruby Ale and dressing it up in their Jammy Pants to conjure up a tart ale with bewitching flavors of raspberry, vanilla, and lime.
 
McMenamins What’s Colder Than Cold? Double IPA
Meanwhile, over at Edgefield, brewers took Great Notion’s recipe for JB DIPA full of Mosaic hops, finished it with lager yeast and created a crisp, clean version of JB called What’s Colder Than Cold? DIPA.
 
McMenamins Ice Cold Triple IPA
Then our brewers really went wild, dry hopping and cellaring What’s Colder Than Cold? at below freezing temperatures, which condensed hop flavors of mango, passion fruit and citrus and raised the ABV to new heights in a beer you will only see in bottles for a short time: Ice Cold Triple IPA.
