When you see a door marked Broom Closet we encourage you to open it! Even then, glancing at the brooms may give you pause, but we give you permission to investigate. What you discover behind the panels may entail fresh scones or fresh cocktails.
Yet this space reopens to the public in the afternoons with a spirited bit of offerings: classic cocktails, with an emphasis on a greater selection of whiskey, scotch and Port. A menu of small bites is available as well.
As you partake in the offerings and wonder just where you are, enjoy the classic blues music playing. Note the five-panel painting, our artist Andy Eccleshall's tribute to the late Jim Boyer, who was a longtime Portland musician and member of a McMenamins' favorite, the Freak Mountain Ramblers. Boyer is depicted in the center, and his lyrics are woven through the panels, to live on.
