About Jerry Sharp & The Tell Tale Hearts
We are the crow-calling disciples of the mysterious Jerry Sharp. We are the authors of dusty old novellas that sit on desert dime store shelves. We are plastic cowboys riding bareback in abandoned attic toybox rodeos. Born out of an anity for Edgar Allan Poe, an abundance of vagabond songs, and a
mysteriously named 1960 Fender lap steel that grace our tunes, Jerry Sharp & The Telltale Hearts formed in the Willamette Valley in April of 2024.
Drawing on inuences from greats like The Byrds, Townes Van Zandt, and Wilco, the vision for our sound is that of classic American roots rock with hints of folk. The quintet features long time bandmates Jerome Blankenship (guitar, harmonica, accordion, vocals) and Liam Stary (bass/vocals), who also play together in the indie folk rock band Ships to Roam.
Songwriting duties are shared by Blankenship and brilliant creator Paul Pederson (guitar/vocals). Cooper Davis (lap steel/resonator) brings a dreamy country rock vibe to the mix. Last but certainly not least, Mike Henke (drums/percussion) rounds out the sound with his decades behind the kit in the Portland music scene.
Keep your eyes and ears open for this amazing addition to Oregon's musical story. And remember, "All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream."
