50 People, Places, and Things that Transformed Portland Since 1974

Willamette Week turned 50 years old last November and to commemorate this golden anniversary co-editor Audrey van Buskirk distilled five decades of local history into the special edition 50 People, Places, and Things that Transformed Portland Since 1974. From Vera Katz to Thomas Lauderdale, Pioneer Courthouse Square to the Portland Farmers Market, Leatherman to the McMenamin brothers, discover an entertaining and informative combination of local culture and history as well as tips on experiencing Portland's innovations and creativity today. Get ready to feel proud of your hometown.

Audrey van Buskirk is the former Arts and Culture editor for Willamette Week and has also written for Portland Tribune, MIX; Portland Monthly, Santa Fe Reporter, and Seattle Weekly.
