About No Place to Grow Old

No Place to Grow Old

No Place to Grow Old is a powerful exploration of the rising crisis of senior homelessness in Portland, Oregon. The film uncovers the systemic challenges and deeply personal stories of those with no place to call home. Hosted by the nonprofit Humans for Housing, the team behind the film, and their partners at Street Roots, this showing will be followed by a panel of local experts and the film's director, Davey Schaupp.

Humans For Housing
Portland-based nonprofit Humans for Housing believes that every human has inherent worth and has a right to stable and safe housing. Through powerful storytelling, community engagement and unrelenting advocacy for systematic changes, they are working to eradicate chronic homelessness in the United States and ensure all people have the housing they deserve.

Street Roots
Street Roots is a nonprofit media organization intertwined with the lives of people experiencing homelessness and poverty. They work to make income accessible to the poorest people in our society through work that is low barrier and, at its best, empowering. Street Roots produces a weekly social justice newspaper sold by people experiencing homelessness and poverty to earn an income. They advocate for better conditions for people experiencing homelessness, as well as systemic change that lessens poverty and increases access to housing.
