Chance Hayden's Baritone Gold

Chance Hayden's Baritone Gold

Always on the move as one of Portland's most trusted string-slingers, internationally acclaimed guitarist Chance Hayden has performed avidly since the mid 00s throughout the pacific northwest and beyond, as both a bandleader and sideman to diverse acclaimed artists including Jarrod Lawson, Farnell Newton, Darrell Grant, Devin Phillips, Shelly Rudolph, Andy Stokes, Lloyd Jones, LaRhonda Steele, Mel Brown and many more. Hayden's new album Baritone Gold spotlights a guitar rarity and a dozen 1960s inspired originals which yield vibrant echoes of surf, soul, blues and classic film scores in an inventive spin of the jazz organ trio. "Several pieces can almost feel like old under-the-radar 45s that somehow were never heard before, but with production that is thoroughly modern and a cooking playfulness that is always timeless." -All About Jazz

The Strange Tones

The Strange Tones

The wildly entertaining Strange Tones have blended a unique concoction of original blues, rockabilly, surf, and vintage R&B, and finished it off with a private eye twist. They've shaken and stirred these elements into their own sound and style known as Crime-A-Billy. Well-crafted songwriting, top notch musicianship, and a playful, engaging stage show have contributed to the band's induction into the Hall of Fame and a multitude of awards from the Cascade Blues Association. "If surf guitar god Dick Dale found himself in Bogie's Maltese Falcon film-noir underworld, and drank beer at the seedy bar with bluesmen Jimmy Reed and Magic Sam, the resulting soundtrack might be exactly what the Strange Tones purvey." -Oregonian"Many people find it hard to show something new within electric blues format and they should ask The Strange Tones for some private lessons as they have found their own niche and truly shine." -TheVoice of the Blues, Przemek Draheim, Poland
