About Jelly Bread

Content

"Dirty ensemble chops, rich vocal dexterity, and solid lyrical flows make Jelly Bread a legitimate festival act with huge potential"... "Music meant for a night of sexual healing on the dance floor with a little granola for breakfast"... Jelly Bread is the combination of a pumping rhythm section that grew up together playing in a gospel band, an award-winning singer/songwriter who approaches music from a Ben Harper/John Butler point of view, rootsy funk/rock guitar with a bit of dirt under the nails, heavy lap steel licks, and vocal textures as rough as sandpaper and soft as velvet.

Steeped in roots, wallowing in funk, and marinated in soul, Jelly Bread mixes roots, rock, reggae, gospel, blues and funk into a seamless fusion they call JELLY BREAD LOVE. "Dual lead vocals float between the cadence of native chanting at a bluegrass barbeque; a gospel singer fronting a rock band at a Sunday morning service"... "Jelly Bread on whole-wheat toast... organic but cooking!" said Ivan Neville of Dumpstaphunk after the band opened a Dumpstaphunk show. Catchy bass lines, silky guitar riffs, and phenomenal drumbeats blend with stick in your head vocal harmonies that classify them as a perfect fit for the festival scene. Jelly Bread is for real. Known as a high-energy live act that loves to jam, they also write with surprising pop sensibilities... and like jelly, they stick to you.

Having shared the stage with Soulive, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, G Love & Special Sauce, Robert Randolph, The Family Band, Roy Rogers, The Delta Rhythm Kings, and jamming with Jonny Lang. Jelly Bread is known as the hardest working band in the Reno/Tahoe area and are busy spreading the love all over the west coast with over 300 shows under their belts in their short 3 year history. With their sophomore album 'No Dresscode', there is no limit to where this group can and will go....
