About A Simple Colony
A Simple Colony is a collaboration between longtime friends Lara Michell (The Stolen Sweets, Dirty Martini) and Michael Dodson (formerly of the Portland Gay Men's Chorus and the David York Ensemble), who met while attending Willamette University in the early 1990s. The duo released an acoustic album in August of 2010 called world brand new and is currently recording its second record, expected to be released by summer of 2012. For their January residency at the Crystal Hotel, a simple colony will be joined by David Langenes on guitar, Patrick Munson on bass and Ned Failing on drums.
