About Miriams Well
"When you listen to hundreds of new releases every year, it's refreshing to hear one that has soul and lots of feeling to it. Miriams Well hit that spot for me...Check it out!" --The Big B.A. KINK Radio 101.9FM, Portland, OR
"Miriams Well is one of the most exciting bands to come out of Portland in a long time. Miriam's unique soulful and bluesy voice is complemented and highlighted by the backing of a truly outstanding band...A force to be reckoned with..." --Robyn Shanti, host of The Dharma Well on KBOO 90.7FM, Portland, OR
"Like heroin...incredibly addictive!" --a fan
Miriams Well is a unique blend of rock and soul that holds echoes of decades gone by, when rock was raw, powerful and unprocessed. Singer and songwriter Mir German doesn't play a set so much as embody it, pulling the music from a deeper place -- a well of sound and images, emotion and power, her voice riding a ragged edge of truth bringing depth and dimension to every song.
Mir and partner Mark Bowden (co-writer/producer/guitarist) are an inseparable team of melody and groove. Miriams Well is their vision combined with the best musical talent Portland has to offer. What you get at a show isn't just a performance...it's an experience that dissolves the boundary between audience and band. It pulls you into the moment and holds you there.
Mir has performed at clubs and festivals throughout the US and Canada and was featured on MuchMusic in Canada. She has shared stages with Shawn Colvin, Carlene Carter, Spencer Davis, Taj Mahal, and Curtis Salgado to name a just a few.
Her first record The New York Sessions (recorded in Woodstock, NY) features guest appearances by bassist Brad Houser (Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians), drummer Eric Parker (Bonnie Raitt/Joe Cocker)and guitarist Adam Widoff (Lenny Kravitz).
A move westward to Portland, OR, and a series of recording sessions for a 2006 EP led to the formation of Miriams Well. A rising regional profile and radio airplay brought Mir to the attention of veteran songwriter Lee Garrett ("Signed, Sealed, Delivered"). The combined efforts of Lee, Mir and Mark have debuted with the full length CD Indians and Clowns.

About Redwood Son
Redwood Son, a fresh new solo effort by Portland based singer/songwriter Josh Malm (formerly J*Malem) is gearing up to release its debut album at the start of 2011. With two albums under his previous moniker, Beginnings*End & Live @ Mississippi Studios, Malm truly believes this current effort is the culmination of five years of hard work and evolution as an artist. Although the original band was torn apart by the tragic death of drummer Kipp Crawford, in November of 2009, Malm has not given up on the vision they shared. The group was searching for the perfect sound that could represent Malm's childhood in the California Redwoods, with an obvious affinity for the Great NW, when they were cut unexpectedly short. "The sound has been found!" Malm says proudly.
"This music should speak to your soul, and hopefully my stories can help you find some peace within the confines of this human condition we all share in common," says Malm. Coined as "West Coast Americana," you can expect to hear a heavy dose of alt.country, blues, rock, and soul. Whatever the sound, the lyrics stand out in a big way. "Call it folk, call it storytelling. I don't concern myself with labels, as long as the message is clear and the listener feels something deeper, on an emotional level," he says.
Be on the lookout for this rising Son of the Redwoods, boasting an exciting new album!
