About Southern Skies
Kendl Winter and Joe Capoccia - banjo player and bassist, respectively, for Olympia indiegrass outfit The Blackberry Bushes - pair off to present a slightly more stripped-down take on the Bushes' jazz, punk, and alt-music informed old time. The duo also takes the opportunity to try their hands at a few other instruments: in addition to banjo, Winter plays guitar, harmonica and washboard, and besides bass, Capoccia tackles guitar and ukelele. When the two perform old-time traditionals and its own vibrant originals, their chemistry sends sparks so hot that they're wanted in thirty states for arson.
