About Renegade Minstrels
The Oregonian has called Renegade Minstrels' music "artful blues for the soul." This five-piece band rollicks with keen, lyrical wit through diverse regions of blues tradition. Bandleader and balladeer Joe Seamons creates the group's original songs, fusing traditional jazz and early blues music with lyrics that draw on Woody Guthrie and English poetry. The band features vocal harmonies and a trombone where you'd expect to hear electric guitar. Renegade Minstrels deliver their brand of blues with a wry and jovial spirit.
The band is composed of Seamons' voice, harmonica and guitar, Luke Dennis on harmony vocals and bass, Jon Ramm-Gramenz on trombone, Forest Carter on drums, and Austin Moore playing mandolin and singing harmonies.
