International recording artist Marv Ellis continues to cross genres with his unique ground breaking sound. A master wordsmith and producer of fresh innovative ideas, he currently in on the verge of releasing his fifth solo album, "Mental Picture Machine."
Writing, producing, and mixing the entire project himself, "Mental Picture Machine" reflects his bi-lingual Spanish speaking roots, and his desire to push knowledge over his own up tempo beats.
He fuses live instruments into his songs, hand selecting some of the Northwest's finest musicians. He adds his own uncanny background singing and choruses, inviting special guests to join like Gift of Gab of Blackalicious, and Kristina Rae, Portland's current female artist of the year.
Respected across Oregon for his live performance abilities and live show appeal, he continues to hold monthly shows in Eugene, Bend, and Portland.
Often described as a diamond in the ruff, Marv Ellis is a Spanish speaking, conscious lyricist who vocal scratches and uses his experience on the microphone to move the crowd.
He performs more live shows of his type than any other artist in the Northwest, and currently ranks as the number one fusion and soul artist in Oregon on Myspace Music.
He currently holds residency at the White Eagle in Portland, where he performs every week with his earth fusion four-piece band, the Platform.
He has developed as an independent artist, and has made a major impact on the cutting edge sound of Portland, and the greater Northwest.
